The Sandy Hurricane


The storms of the Sandy hurricane in U.S.A. caused 106 deaths in New York and 175 deaths in the Caribbean. The U.S.A authorities tried to return to normality in the most affected areas New jersey and New York included.
The U.S.A. president, Barack Obama, declared this Saturday Rhode Island “ disaster area” and received federal funds to finance the cleaning, four days after the storms of Sandy hurricane.
Washington, Newport and Bristol may apply for funds to the U.S.A. Administration to repair damaged infrastructure and for financing projects to prevent future hurricane effects.
In the streets people helped each other by letting them use mobile telephone chargers, wi-fi, water, torches, candles or anything they wanted to use.
The majority of New York's schools opened early because is important that the children return to school. Of 1.700 schools only 65 will remain close, because of floods or because they are used as shelters.
The mayor said that they are opening new centers in the most affected areas to distribute hot food and blankets because the temperature goes down at night, and asked for caution for people who haven't electricity also asked them not to use portable heaters as a heating source because they produced toxic gases and told them to be careful whit candles as they could easily could cause a fire.
